"Oh my God, is this what therapy is?"
- Bojack Horseman
In scary and uncertain times, you may be feeling particularly dissatisfied or lost with what's happening in your life right now, or you might want to work through some unresolved past issues. Therapy is about talking through what's troubling you in a safe space and giving you the tools to overcome the difficulties that you face. My aim is to help you to explore what truly matters to you, and to help you reach your chosen goals so that you can feel more fulfilled and self-confident in your life.
Therapy is a process, and there's no one size fits all. My approach is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), drawing elements from both evidence-based therapies depending on your personal needs and preferred style. We will work together at your pace so that you feel comfortable.
A large part of what makes your therapeutic journey unique to you is bringing your own interests and likes into the therapeutic space and using these in a creative and relatable way to gain insight into yourself and the person you want to be. Your interests could be video or tabletop games, fandoms like Pokémon or musicals, or passions like crochet and surfing. Whatever it is that you're passionate about, I'd love to share that with you and guide you on your journey to live your best life.
"Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place."
- Captain Raymond Holt, Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Undertaking therapy can be a big step, and committing to change can be a difficult process. If you have any concerns or questions please get in touch and I will support you at whatever point you are.
